P4 - Université Côte d'Azur
Université Côte d'Azur, former The University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis - was officially instituted in October 23, 1965. Université Côte D'Azur is a research intensive university ranked in the AWRU. The re-entry 2016 saw the University accommodating 25,963 students including 19% from abroad (foreign students) representing 131 nationalities. It is a multidisciplinary university which covers all fields of scientific knowledge. It is composed of 13 faculties or institute and 47 research labs. There are 1575 researchers, professors, associate professors and 1152 engineers, technicians and administrative staff. The experience of Université Côte D'Azur in coordinating or participating to Erasmus Mundus programs is well established. Université Côte D'Azur has been involved as partner in several Erasmus Mundus projects: “Basileus”, “Averroes”.
Université Côte D'Azur also managed as coordinator the Erasmus Mundus Partnership project “EMMA” and Erasmus Mundus Joint doctorate EMJD in Astrophysics.
Université Côte D'Azur develops agreements of cooperation with many universities. Besides agreements of student mobility (Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus); for many years Université Côte D'Azur managed several European Tempus Projects with universities from Balkans.
Now Université Côte D'Azur manages Capacity building projects, International credit mobility projects and Strategic partnership projects.
Université Côte D'Azur organizes several summer schools and has recently created a service to welcome foreign students.
Role in the Project
Université Côte D'Azur has been participating in European project as partner and as coordinator for many years now. Université Côte D'Azur will share our experience and skills on Research management and European project management via leading or co-leading the following work-packages: WP 2.3. Workshop on strategic development; WP 2.6. Study visits; WP 3.1. Project Quality and Monitoring Plan and Steering committee.
In addition, Université Côte D'Azur will fully participate in other WPs as well, by attending other workshops, disseminating information and participating in the overall management of the HERD project.
