Sustainability

One of the major outputs of the HERD project, Online Georgian Research Portal will be maintained by the EMIS, a state-owned research foundation that will continue administering the portal after the HERD project is finished. Ministry of Education will provide the necessary financial support for this purpose; and provide the policy support to urge the non-HERD partner universities to register their human and infrastructural capacity on the portal.
The HERD consortium member HEIs will continue administering the RM portals implemented on their own premises after the project lifespan to maintain the achieved results and make use of the trained staff, their skills and capacities to draft and develop strategic development documents, identify the research priority areas and continue collaboration on local and international levels. They take responsibility to continue the payment of annual fees of the RM software if necessary based on the models suggested by the vendor identified at the initial stage of the project.
The trainings envisaged within the HERD project are planned to be conducted in ToT manner to further disseminate the knowledge of the target university administrative and academic personnel. Therefore, after the project is over, in order to sustain the achieved results, the target universities will organize internal training sessions to spread the knowledge to other staff members and maintain the high performance of the R&D units.
